Once upon a time, the Google Play Store was called the “Android Market.” To be more in line with the direction Google was headed with a multi-pronged approach to content Google changed the name of the Market to the Google Play Store. That was five years ago today, and to celebrate Google had put together some “Top 5” lists of Apps, Games, Books and more.

The success of the Play Store is pretty incredible. According to Google, the Play store has “grown to more than 1 billion active users in 190 countries. And with millions of apps, 40 million songs, 5 million books and more movies than ever, there’s so much to explore.”
You can also hit up the Play Store to save $5 on any book over the price of $5. While nice, I would have liked to see some deals on apps, games, and movie as well. But hey, don’t look a gift-horse in the mouth, right?
