We all suffer from this problem. We either have chargers and cables all over the house or have tried to consolidate the mess by keeping it contained to a charging station. The problem with both of those scenarios is that no matter how hard you try, the cables are always a visible mess.

The solution? Well, I mean, kinetic charging would be fantastic, but we are decades away from that. In the meantime, you may want to check out Eclipse. A new, neater way to charge your daily devices.

Currently available for backing on Kickstarter, the Eclipse is a pretty nice looking solution for charging your devices.

With a light touch to the top of the unit, which comes in various wood grain style colours (and marble) the top of the station rises to reveal the up to three cables stored inside.

Using a precision fit design, your cables coil up inside the charging station and when not in use, are 100% stored away, tangle free. Rather than simply hiding the mess, the Eclipse manages that mess for you.

The size of the Eclipse is large enough for you to house up to 24 feet of total cable length (3 cables) but small enough that it will not take up much space on the counter or the bedside stand. The Eclipse also comes with its 4 foot long power cable giving you an extra bump on cable length compared to using just the charger and wall-wart that came with your phone, tablet or another device.

The Eclipse will also charge your devices at the fast possible speed allowed by your device, by intelligently increasing the amps that it is pushing out to your device (up to a max of 2.4A on USB A and 3A on USB C).

With future-proofing in mind, the charging hub contains both USB Type A and USB Type C connections ensuring compatibility with yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s devices.

Eclipse also solves another problem we all have, especially if we charge our devices bed-side. The problem of fumbling around in the dark trying to find a cable for your phone while also trying not to knock everything off the table and wake up your wife. That has never happened to me, but maybe you can relate.

When the top of the station is touched to open and reveal the cables stored inside, the Eclipse emits a subtle hue from the bottom of the unit given just enough light to find the cables inside.

The Eclipse is also wall mountable which is a very nice added touch.
